How Omni Regatta works
Omni Regatta shows a regatta on a live map: where every boat is, who is leading, how the course plays out. After the race you can replay it and check results and statistics.
What it does
- Live tracking. Boat positions on a nautical chart, updated every few seconds, with speed, course and distance to the next mark.
- Replay. The race from start to finish at 1x to 50x, with tracks, manoeuvres and a leader line.
- Results and statistics. Times, distance, average and top speed, VMG, list of tacks, results as a PDF.
- Organizer tools. Events, courses, sign-up by QR code, tracker assignment, email alerts when a tracker stops reporting.
Two ways to track a boat
| Phone with the Race Recorder app | Hardware tracker |
|---|---|
| A free app for Android and iPhone. Crews join the event themselves by scanning a QR code. No hardware to buy. | A GPS device (Teltonika, Queclink) fitted to the boat. We assign it to the boat at the organizer's request. It doesn't depend on the crew's phone or its battery. |
| A good fit for passages, club races and record attempts. | A good fit for long races, youth classes and fleets where sailors can't carry a phone. |
You can mix both in the same event.
